Educational Action Research

Here are 5 top tips for educational action research:

  1. Be curious and interested in your own practice. Ask: ‘What am I really interested in?’ ‘How can this be improved?’ And ‘What happens if …’
  2. Think about how can you incorporate a range of voices in your enquiry including those of learners?
  3. What ethical issues must you consider?
  4. Remember that you won’t be ‘proving’ anything in your enquiry but you will have findings that are valuable not just for yourself but to others. How will you share your findings?
  5. Practitioner research should generate more questions – what will your next enquiry be?
